Fusing features from the Vandoren Master and Optimum ligatures, the M|O’s quick response and crisp articulation bestows enhanced expression upon your clarinet playing.
The M|O securely holds the reed to the mouthpiece table without restriction. A formed channel in the independent collar avoids any side contact or lateral compression that would interfere with the reed.
Two small contact points in the formed reed channel secure the reed without dampening or restricting its natural vibrations. The result is quick response and crisp articulation.
The M|O is constructed from a lightweight brass that allows the ligature to freely interact and sympathetically resonate with the reed rather than constrict and impede its motion. Rather than fighting with the reed, the M|O unleashes the reed’s energy to enhance your playing experience and musical expression.
The special Optimum ligature thread design allows you to tighten the screw with only a few turns. This often overlooked feature can be a real advantage in situations that require a quick reed change.
To function properly, a reed must vibrate evenly from one side to the other. The M|O’s unique double-track mechanism provides uniform, symmetrical suspension across both sides of the reed. A single screw, inverted on the opposite side of the reed, delivers sufficient torque to hold the reed in place without suffocating it.
